the pox (chicken not small)

Fri August 27 2010   Filed under Random, Nights/Days Out   12 comments.

HOW EMBARRASSING! I have the chicken pox at 19. That’s right the chicken pox! I’ll start from the beginning shall I (skip to the next paragraph if you’re bored already ha)

Like most people I had chicken pox when I was younger, about 2 I think, so I can’t really remember it. But as the tale goes you can apparently only get it once? WRONG! I had a pain all through my shoulder and neck last week it was agonising but it felt as though I’d just pulled a muscle. I was nagging at Scott to give me massages night and day to ease the pain but by weekend it was not only hurting it had also swollen up and was stinging like mad. I was scared. I didn’t know what it was. I cried. Scott laughed. He’s evil like that. So Monday I went to the doctors expecting him to say something along the lines of “you’ve slept funny and pulled a muscle or bruised a bone etc etc” Took me completely off guard when he turned around and said it was a form of chicken pox. I think I actually said the words ‘Say what now?’ He then explained that chicken pox is a virus that stays in your body and when you’re run down or stressed it can break out again but in a different form. An adult form to be exact. And man oh man does it hurt! But it’s only on my neck and left shoulder. Strange eh? It has been a bit of an inconvenience though, it’s my friends 19th tonight and we were supposed to be having a cocktail party but I can’t go because some of them have never had chicken pox. I FEEL LIKE A LEPAR!

So enough about illness! At the weekend me and Scott were bored during the day Saturday and decided to go for a walk to a nearby pub that’s right on the edge of a lake. It’s really nice and secluded and does gorgeous food. Bearing in mind we’ve only ever drove there from my house we weren’t too sure how far it actually was. We thought about 20 mins or so down the canal… 2 hours later and we’re still walking. Miles away it was! I have to admit though we had quite a good time :) we saw some tiny little ponies on the way. I can’t remember the name of the breed but you could literally pick them up they were so small. Ahhh I was screaming like a little girl I was that excited ha. Click the picture of Scott and the ponies to see exactly what I mean about their size. Next time we go I’m going to steal one :)

In other news I had my first driving lesson today! I absolutely loved it. I was nervous at first but once she explained everything I drove for about half an hour and didn’t stall once—she said I was a natural ;) check me! I’m already looking for cars on the internet ha (not that I’ll be able to afford one) All my friends can drive but they had their lessons and their cars paid for by their parents where as good old me has to fork it all out myself, which would explain why I’ve waited until now. Not complaining though, I think it’s only fair as my Dad had to pay for his lessons himself, just annoys me sometimes though how spoilt a lot of my friends are. At £20 a lesson it’s going to cost me at least a grand to learn how to drive! If only money grew on trees..

p.s Bank holiday weekend! If I was Prime Minister every Monday would be a bank hol. Infact Monday’s would be banned altogether ;)

what a disgraceful ending to The Hills…

Now then, the title—we shall get to that soon! First off helloooo darlings :) how was everyones weekend? I had my birthday celebration Saturday. I went for a meal at a tapas bar (Spanish food) in town with 22 of my girl friends. Yes 22, we more or less rented the place out as it was so small! So I was busy busy last week rushing around trying to sort out the deposit which is my excuse for the lack of updates :) In actual fact I have been updating as I’ve been working on secret content ;) “oooh errr” but that shall all soon be revealed!

So Saturday was fun I love love love tapas bars! It’s such a different spin on going for a meal, I enjoy the whole thing. Instead of sitting down and ordering a main and a dessert for example, you order up to 6 dishes at a time! Sounds extremely greedy I know, but they’re only tiny little dishes so you can keep ordering and ordering as much as you like, I’m usually stuffed off the first few though! We caused a bit of a scene in the tapas bar as we were all a little drunk so I only got one or two pictures but I have a few from the night out afterwards which you will see scattered around this blog entry :)

Now back to the title, 3 words—WHAT THE HELL? I’m not sure if it had previously aired in America but over here in the UK Sunday night was the first showing of the final ever episode, and what a disappointment! I didn’t think the episode was anything special to begin with (my bad Kristin but I’m a loyal LC fan) but seriously did they have to go and do that at the end?! Before you start I know, I know, The Hills isn’t real but I thought there was at least a teeny weeny bit of truth behind it, that it wasn’t ALL scripted. But the ending obviously proved me wrong. I won’t go into too much detail incase few of you haven’t seen it yet. But in a nut shell—not impressed! Gotta feeling there’s going to be some pretty angry Hills fans out there…

In other news, not up to much this week apart from work zZzz. Going out for tea then to the cinema with my friend Demi on Wednesday. Hopefully going to watch Inception as I’ve still not seen it. I’ve heard off quite a few people that it’s similar to Shutter Island (which I absolutely loved) so I can’t wait :) good actor is old Leo!

New layout :) Trying to only update the layout once a month but I’ve been itching to make a new one—hope you like!

my last birthday as a teenager :(

Tue August 10 2010   Filed under Nights/Days Out   18 comments.

Happy birthday to meee! I know what you’re thinking :) “must be having a pretty dull birthday if she’s spending it blogging on her site” ha but truth is I’m at work and I’ve nothing to do! Shock I know, I take random pointless days off but when it’s my birthday I actually come in, I don’t understand it myself.

Anywhoooo my last birthday as a teenager as I’m 19 today—talk about putting a depressing spin on things! I feel old. The picture to the left is of the birthday girl herself (bored at my desk)

Not got much planned today as I’m celebrating my birthday on Saturday having a night out with the girls! So today just going to finish work early and go for sumet to eat then to the pub with a few friends. I’ve received a few cards and money which is the norm as you get older, whatever happened to big glittery presents ha :) enjoy them while you can young ones!

Scott got me the best present ever—he took me to a spa for the weekend to get all preened and pampered :) IT—WAS—AMAZING! I’ve been nagging at him forever to take me so my birthday was a good excuse. It was well worth the money, we spent all of Saturday in the pool and jacuzzi with champagne (ooh la la) then went for a meal that night. But I admit it got a little daft, we ended up drinking too much (I was sick all over the hotel room—not the relaxing weekend I had planned afterall ha) so I was rough all day Sunday and couldn’t enjoy my massage and facial as much as I wanted to, not making that mistake next time I tell thee! Here’s a few photos, I forgot my camera again so the quality is a bit crap as they’re off my phone..
